Kozani, built at an altitude of 720m. at the foot of Mount Vermio, is the capital of the Municipality. It is the seat of the Western Region and it is located at the crossroads between Central Macedonia, Epirus and Thessaly. Macedonian Revolution Museum
At a distance of only 12 kilometers from Aiani and 32 kilometers from Kozani, there is the Museum of the
Macedonian Revolution. It is located on the mountain of Vourinos (Bourinos) near the village of Chromio. In this Museum is presented the struggle of Macedonian Greeks until the union with Greece in 1912-13, through
historical evidence and documents of that period.
Koventareios Municipal Library
An equally important sight to visit, is the Koventareios Municipal Library of kozani. It is the second largest in
Greece and it is a cultural gem for the city of Kozani as in its premises are presented rare manuscripts of

Polyfytos Lake and Neraida village
Southeast of Kozani and at a distance of 27 kilometers, there is the artificial lake of Polyfytos. Niki’s Square

Nikolaos. Built in 1664, it is the registered trademark of the city with its emblematic bell tower where is the
meeting point of the residents. In Niki’s Square, the main square of the city, right in the center, you will see
